Deadly clashes have broken out between Bedouin tribes and local fighters in the southern Syrian city of Sweida, a war monitor said on July 14. The *Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said "46 Druze fighters, four civilians, 18 Bedouin fighters, 14 security personnel, and seven unidentified individuals in military uniform were among the dead." The violence also led to the closure of the Damascus-Sweida highway .At least 6 members of Syria’s security forces, who were deployed to quell the violence in Sweida, have been killed, as per Reuters. As per reports, armed groups took control of the village of al-Surah in Sweida’s countryside, triggering a wave of displacement from the area.A prominent Druze group in Sweida placed direct blame on the Syrian government for the deterioration of security in the governorate.
