Wimbledon 2025 marks the end of an era as line judges are permanently replaced by Electronic Line Calling (ELC), joining the US and Australian Opens. Once a signature sight with their sharp attire and stoic presence, line judges will now serve as “match assistants” and a shortened bunch will be on standby should the technology hit a snag.
