Air India pays interim relief of Rs 25 lakh to 166 crash victims' kin

Air India has disbursed interim compensation of Rs 25 lakh each to the families of 147 deceased passengers from AI 171 and 19 who died at the accident site. Verification is complete for 52 more families, with payments progressing. The Tata Group's AI-171 Memorial and Welfare Trust pledges Rs 1 crore ex gratia for each deceased and support for B J Medical College Hostel infrastructure.
